Nick’s role at Optim Legal focusses on recruitment, human potential development, corporate culture and organisational design.

He developed his ideas for Optim Legal working as a lawyer in top-tier legal environments for over eight years; starting as a solicitor in Freehills then Allens, he has spent the last three years developing the concept of a new model law firm. A lateral thinker with a strong interest in developing human systems to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of legal work, Nick has a First Class Honours Law degree from the University of Melbourne and worked for a year as an Associate to Justice Michael Kirby of the Australian High Court.


Scott Ryper, Director of Operations and Technology

Scott has worked in the financial services industry for Citigroup for over 10 years. He has managed operational teams assisting the implementation of major data/operations systems and developed productivity and capacity planning systems.

Scott is an accredited Six Sigma ‘Green belt – CFPI facilitator’ and has facilitated major quality projects at the enterprise level.  As Citibank Mortgage Operations Manager, he was responsible for over 50 staff in two countries, and multiple service vendors. Scott brings solid management and process design experience to Optim legal, as well as drive for continuous improvement and smarter ways of working.
