We only collect personal information which assists us conducting our business or if there is a legal requirement for us to do so. We may disclose your personal information to:
- third parties for the sole purpose of assisting us in providing our services, or
- anyone else to whom you have authorised us to disclose it.
Otherwise any personal information collected at this Website will be kept strictly private and confidential. We take reasonable steps to ensure that any third parties respect the confidentiality of this information by abiding by relevant privacy legislation.
Sending information overseas
We will not send your personal information to recipients outside of Australia without:
- obtaining your consent unless your consent is clearly implied); or
- we are satisfied of effective data protection: or
- otherwise complying with the NPPs.
Sensitive Information
“Sensitive personal information” will only be collected where necessary to deliver legal services on your behalf. It will only be used for the purpose for which it was provided or where required by law.
Where we no longer require your personal information for a permitted purpose under the NPPs, we will take reasonable steps to destroy it.
Access to your personal information
Subject to the exceptions set out in the Privacy Act, you may gain access to the personal information which Optim Legal holds about you by contacting the Optim Legal Privacy Officer.
